Year 6 @ Holy Family

Class of 2018/19

WW2 Trip

Posted by Mr Waywell on Jan-4-2013

To help with this term’s topic, Year 6 decided to go on ANOTHER trip!

This time we set off on a coach to Lancashire Museum in Preston.  As ever, Year 6 did not disappoint and wore some fantastic evacuee outfits!

When we arrived we took part in two role plays.  The first was over by an Anderson shelter where we learned about the role of the wardens, gas masks and all of the rules and changes that came with the blackout.  The second was up in a classroom where we learned about what happened to evacuees, the importance of rationing and how to identify aeroplanes from WW2.

After lunch we looked around the rest of the museum trying to answer Mr Waywell’s ‘Photo Quiz’.

What did you think of the trip?

Did you learn anything new?
