Half Term

What a treat having 2 weeks off, with no homework too!

How is your half term?  Anybody doing anything fun?

SATS Party

Posted by Mr Waywell on May-30-2013

After a (not so) gruelling week of SATS, Year 6 celebrated in style with another class party.

There was plenty of dancing (courtesy of ‘Dance Party’) and more pass the parcel forfeits.  Again the forfeits made the most of embarrassing Year 6 pupils…HE HE!

Here are Nikola’s hamsters when they paid a visit to our class.

Did you find new homes for them Nik?

Over the past half term our science topic has been electricity.

Our aims:

  • To know about conductors and insulators
  • To create our own circuits (with different types of switch)
  • To investigate circuits (length/thickness of wire etc)
  • To use symbols to draw circuits (including motors, buzzers and bulbs)

Looking at these photographs I think that we have been pretty successful!

What have you thought of the topic?  Do you feel more confident with circuits now?

Gangnam Year 6 Style

Again, lunch time has been a time to make a pop video!  What do you think?

Can you draw the net of a 3D shape?

Year 6 certainly can (with the help of some apparatus!)

Gymnastics at Playtime

Posted by Mr Waywell on May-2-2013

After some maths work, break time was a little more eventful today.

Year 6 decided to try their hand at acrobatics/gymnastics/cheerleading!

Lets hope that there are no more casts being worn in class! 3 is plenty!
