This weekend Year 6 spent Friday night camping on the school field!

We began the evening with a little free time as the class unpacked their bags in their homes for the night. This was followed by a burger and chips tea.

The aim of the evening was to work as a team, so after tea the class were mixed into four teams; ‘The Jolly Fairies’, ‘Peace’, ‘The Evil Ponies’ and ‘The Happy Campers’. In groups the first task was to organise themselves into different order whilst standing on benches (some groups proved much better than others!)

Next was a game on the bottom field that involved water, hockey sticks and lots of dizzy people! As the sun went down we had a break and ate chocolate brownies and ice-cream whilst watching the fireworks.

Our next game was a chair game where the teams had to squeeze onto four chairs as they made their way across the school hall.  Then we played hide and seek around the whole school in the dark!

The night drew to a close after playing a very annoying game with glow sticks.  We then sat and toasted marshmallows around a camp fire before going to bed.

In the morning we had bacon butties and toast and then went home at 10am.

Thanks to all of the teachers who helped out and to Year 6 for getting stuck into all of the games!

What did you think?  Would you camp again?  What was your tent like?
