As we continue with our World War 2 topic, today we cooked following some WW2 recipes.
Year 6 were given 8 recipes to complete and had to follow the recipes and cook with as little help as they could. Everyone worked as a team and some really tasty food was made. We stuck to the rationing theme as much as we could though we did cheat a little with real eggs rather than dried ones! We made:
- Anzac Biscuits
- Vegetable Pasties
- Cheese Whirls
- No-Bake Chocolate Cake
- Welsh Cakes
- Rock Buns
- Prune Flan
- Spam Fritters
Once the food was cooked we had our own VE party in the hall complete with food tasting, traditional lemonade, dancing and a Wartime singalong! A big well done to the boys and girls who took part in our dance competition!
