Walking Club – Nicky Nook

Posted by Mr Waywell on Oct-21-2018

This month’s walking club began with clear weather and a walk from Scorton on our way to Nicky Nook.

Sadly the fine weather lasted for all of 5 minutes and then it began to rain.  Not to be deterred, we continued on our way (getting wetter with each step).  Half way up the hill we decided that a picnic lunch was off the cards so Mr W raced back to get the bus whilst the group soldiered on to the top.

Well done everyone for making it to the top!

Once back down again, we had lunch in the bus before heading off to Wallings for the largest ice creams ever seen!

It was very wet and soggy but not enough to stop Year 6 having another great day!

Praying the Rosary

This week school prayed the rosary for peace in the world.

Afterwords Year 6 stayed with Sister Margaret to learn about each of the mysteries.

Camping Team Build

Posted by Mr Waywell on Oct-7-2018

This weekend Year 6 camped on the school field for some team building fun!

We began at 5pm with time to explore tents and play.  Earlier in the day we had worried that the rain might have taken us inside to sleep however we were lucky and it was dry enough for our tents.  Whilst Year 6 played, Mrs Knight and Mrs Whitmore busied themselves in the kitchen making tea.

After tea it was time to get into teams for the games.  We played lots:

  • Bench games (moving into different orders without falling off)
  • Pass the ball (with hands and then chins)
  • Bench Ball
  • Murder in the dark

We also got time to sit and watch the firework competition whilst eating ice creams.

Bed was around 11pm, however before hand we cooked marshmallows on the fire and listened to a story.

Everyone was amazing and we had a great night!
